San Franciscans are justifiably proud of their city.  Its location, at the tip of a hilly peninsula on the West coast of North America overlooking the Pacific Ocean is one of the most beautiful in the world.  Add to that the enviable climate, the quality of light which has, over the years, attracted artists to settle there, the culture-loving and free-thinking personality of the city and the fact that the city's Golden Gate Bridge is one of the iconic images of North America and it's not difficult to see why.

San Francisco is a compact city and most of the central area can be explored on foot.  The many hills offer wonderful views over the bay of San Francisco and the city's famous cable cars will save you the effort of the climb.  There is so much to be enjoyed: art galleries and museums, sports, beaches, cafes and restaurants, cable car rides, wine-tasting in the famous Napa Valley or a drive along the magnificent Carmel Coast.

The OISE school is located in Market Street, in the very centre of town and within easy access of shops, cafes and restaurants.  the nearest tram stop is a few moments away by foot and the embarkation quay for the ferries which cross the bay is also within walking distance.  Sports facilities are plentiful; tennis, swimming, gyms, beaches and even the possibility to ski at nearby Lake Tahoe.
